The days following the death of Christ and before the resurrection were very difficult days for Christ followers as you can imagine. Most of them were full of anxiety and despair. One of the first people to see Jesus after His bodily resurrection was a lady name Mary. She was a dedicated follower of Christ from the city of Magdala on the western shore of the sea of Galilee. Jesus had delivered her from possession by seven demons who sought to destroy her life (Luke 8:2). Her dedication to Christ causes her to be recorded in all four of the Gospels as well as her presence is mentioned at both the scene of the cross and the tomb. Her story is key to discovering the ability of Christ to alone relieve all of our despair.
